WINDBER, Penn. — A locally directed anti-bullying program will receive national attention today when crews from ABC News “Good Morning America” cover Windber Elementary School’s kickoff assembly.

A self-produced video program, skits and presentations by teachers will highlight the assembly to launch HALT! Bullying Prevention Program in the statewide Highmark Healthy High 5 lifestyle improvement initiative.

The video was produced with the theme “Heroes in the Hallway,” Principal Lisa James said.

“It is about having pride and speaking up for each other and standing up for each other,” James said. “We want all of the kids in our school to be heroes.”

Today’s program is titled “Peers Respecting Individual Differences Everywhere,” or PRIDE. Full story.
