Two seniors suspended in Kansas locker-room hazing

Salina Journal
BELOIT, Kansas — Charges are pending against a senior defensive lineman on the Beloit High School football team — and possibly another senior player — for the alleged hazing of a freshman player Aug. 21 in a school locker room.

Mitchell County Attorney Mark Noah said Thursday that at least a misdemeanor battery charge is expected to be filed against Joe Studer, 18, a senior at Beloit Junior-Senior High School.

“They may include others,” Noah said. “It was an attempt to inflict pain or discomfort with this minor child.”

Formal charges against the players could come as early as today and “probably no later than Monday or Tuesday,” said Ryan Stocker, Beloit police chief.

Whether Noah will issue a summons to appear in court or an arrest warrant has not been determined. Full story.
